From April 16 to 19, the first qualifying stage of the judo competition “Battle of the Cities 2026” among boys under 18 years old was held at the Sports Complex “Spartak House of Sports” in Krasnoyarsk.
16 of the strongest teams from the Siberian division took part in this qualifying round: “Krasnoyarsk”, “Kyzyl” from the Republic of Tyva, FSC “Leader” from the Novosibirsk region, “Ermak” from the Irkutsk region, as well as “Ax Bars” from the Republic of Khakassia and “Kuzbass”. Also participating in the tournament were the team “Platinum” from the Krasnoyarsk region, “Tomich” from the Tomsk region, “Altai Territory” and “Academy” from the Novosibirsk region, “Vityaz” from the Omsk region, “Zenit 2” and the SShOR in judo and sambo named after. Sergei Manakov from the Omsk region, as well as the teams “Turbostroitel-Altai” from the Republic of Altai and “Abakan” from the Republic of Khakassia. These teams demonstrated a high level of preparation and desire to win on the mat.
The competition took place in four groups, with each team competing to become one of the top two in order to advance further in the competition.
In Group A, the first place was taken by the KD Krasnoyarsk team, scoring an impressive 39 points. The second place was taken by the Ermak team from the Irkutsk region with 29 points. Group B also pleased the audience with exciting fights: judokas of the sports club “Akh Bars” from the Republic of Khakassia scored 34 points, and the “Platinum” team, representing the Krasnoyarsk Territory, closed the group with 31 points.
In Group C, the best team was “KD Altai Krai”, whose participants also scored 39 points. The second place was taken by the SSH Energia team with 31 points. Group D ended with the victory of the Zenit 2 team from the Irkutsk region with 39 points, and SSHOR im. S. Manakova" from Omsk with 33 points.
Ahead of us is the next, first qualifying stage of the “Battle of the Cities 2026”, which will take place from April 27 to 30 in Khabarovsk. In this stage, teams from the Russian Far East will meet.
The winners of the first stage in their groups will continue to the second qualifying stage in their regions. The winners of the second stage will also take part in the grand final competition - the international tournament “Battle of the Cities”, which will be held in Moscow in December. It is in the Russian capital that 32 teams will gather - sixteen Russian and sixteen foreign, invited by the organizers, to compete for the title of the best of the best.
