The international series of "Battle of Cities" continues to bring together the strongest young judoka. From October 9 to 10, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic will host the third tournament of the Continental Division of "Battle of Cities." Four youth teams will face off on the tatami of the "Gazprom for Children" Sports and Health Complex to compete for a spot in the International Superfinal of the tournament.
As a reminder, the semifinalists of the Higher Division who took third and fourth places earned the chance to fight for advancement to the decisive stage of the tournament through international playoff matches. "Cherkessk" claimed bronze medals in the "Alexander Suvorov" Legion in Stavropol, while "Yelets" finished among the top four in the "Fyodor Ushakov" Legion in Chelyabinsk.
In Bishkek, Russian teams "Cherkessk" from the Karachay-Cherkess Republic and "Yelets" from the Lipetsk Region will face the hosts of the tatami — teams representing the cities of Bishkek and Naryn. The tournament will follow a round-robin format over two days, with each team competing in three matches. The winner of the two-day tournament will secure a berth in the International Superfinal, which will take place in Moscow in December of this year.
"Battle of Cities" is an international project organized by the Russian Judo Federation and the "Cradle of the Fatherland" Charity Foundation, supported by general sponsor Fonbet. The project aims to develop youth sports, strengthen international friendly ties, and nurture a new generation of athletes who will proudly represent their cities on both national and international tatami.
